Ercolani was born in St Angelo, Tuscany, Italy. His father Abdon Ercolani, a picture frame maker, emigrated along with his family to London in 1898 in search of work. By 1906 Lucian was working in the Salvation army joinery department, producing staircases and handrails. He would later work with Frederick Parker (of Parker Knoll fame) and Ebenezer Gomme, founder of G plan, before starting the iconic Ercol. His designs have become loved the world over. He was intent on producing beautiful, honest furniture. Both design and people were the cornerstone of his company from the very beginning. This remains true as Ercol is still a privately owned family run business that continues his beliefs into the 21st century. The Ercol 610 table was part of the 1978 old colonial range. Made of Elm and beech, the gate leg system allows for the table to fold neatly to save space in any room. When opend it is a beautiful rectangular dining table. The Ercol 365 dining chairs and 365A Carver chairs were part of the 1950s Windsor range. The colour though matches the old colonial style. Fitted with removable seat cushions, these Elm wood chairs have the perfect mix of style and comfort.
